Skills — in contrast to talent — are no gift but must be aquired by means of learning and practice. With a young age I started web designing. The more I progressed the more I had to understand what happens in the background. While working at a conference provider I learned much about network technologies and their interplay with web technologies. The company’s excellent IT sensibility allowed me to introduce a virtualization platform which, these days, could be labeled “cloud” or “cloud computing”.

I started to study computer science at Freie Universität Berlin, acquainted a fundamental understanding of computer science in a whole and did my Bachelor. My Bachelor thesis was about an application that facilitated the development of humanoid robots.

After one year of studies in Paris at Université Denis Diderot I continued my Master studies where I deepened my knowledge, among other things, in software engineering and finally finished my Master. The Master thesis focused on the usability improvement of a software called Saros which allows for the collaboration of distributed teams through Eclipse.

Currently I’m working as a PhD student at Freie Universität Berlin in the Software Engineering working group as well as in the Algorithmic Bioinformatics working group where I do research on code level usability.
